Gold Dots Trees is the precursor to our second series, Beyond the Atlas Mountains , and is inspired by the Tree of Life in the Garden of the Hesperides – a mythological plant from Greek mythology. In this paradisiacal garden, located far to the west, the Hesperides – daughters of the night, Nyx, or the sea god Atlas – guard a tree whose golden apples grant eternal life, youth and immortality to whoever eats them. According to legend, the tree was given to Hera as a wedding gift by the Earth Mother, Gaia. To protect the precious fruits, Hera assigned both the Hesperides and the fearsome dragon Ladon – often depicted as a multi-headed serpent – ​​to guard the garden.

Gold Dots Trees combines advanced Giclée technique with genuine craftsmanship. Each piece is printed in high quality and then refined with 24 carat gold leaf, which is gently applied by hand in soft, precise brushstrokes. Each piece is created in our studio on Sluseholmen.
